Day 29: Earnings Update after 4 Weeks

Wow, its been 29 days and what a ride it has been!  I started this blog simply hoping to help others out on how to do keyword research and learning the power of targeting long-tail keywords; I ended up with a bunch of sites being de-listed from Google!

The more I look at it, the more I think that this blog DID indeed contribute to my sites disappearing.  From what I can see, most of my sites were de-indexed right around May 1st (half-way through this challenge).  Out of the 100 sites that I have built, 20 of them have been de-listed the last time I checked.

In fact, many of the first sites that I built are the ones that got delisted, so these were the ones that would have been earning the most right now; but alas they are gone.  Oh well.  Lesson learned.  I will now be going back over my sites and trying to increase the quality and the content of each site.  Its a project that could take a while.

Having said that, I wanted to stay true to my word and share my earnings as of 4 weeks (which was yesterday).  If you recall, through 3 weeks, my earnings were: $58.50.

My official adsense earnings through 4 weeks is: $106.26.

My expectation was to be at $200 at about this point, so I am a bit short.  However, all in all I am satisfied.  Now, I will just have to wait and see what happens.

Apparently publishing this experiment may have caused some negative effects on the experiment.  I have never had any issues at all before I started pouring out my strategies!

However, if I have helped anyone out in learning how to do keyword research or to judge the competition of Google results, then I suppose this blog has provided some value.

I will still be updating this blog in the future.  I have plans to build a more authoritative site in the near future (actually I started already); one that any Google human would love to see placed in their search engines.  I will be writing original and unique content and using only 100% whitehat methods of promotion.

I will try and keep everyone posted on that project, but make no promise of sharing any earnings on this one.

I will keep you posted on earnings from my 100 site challenge however.  Anyway, post your thoughts below!

  2. I have been looking in very regularly and i have found your honesty extremely refreshing :) most unfortunate about the indexing challenge. I wish you best on this project and i suspect you have been more of an inspiration than you think you have .

its easy to follow someone who makes it look easy Its smarter to follow someone who makes errors and overcomes them .

    Cheers Sir

  3. You’ve provided some really valuable content here and I personally appreciate your insights. Thanks again!

  4. Spencer,

I really enjoy reading this info and hate for you to not keep sharing it. If you don’t mind me asking, in what way to do feel that sharing this info has negatively impacted your efforts? I ask as I’m hoping to see if there might be some alternative method to deliver the content, should be interested in continuing.

    Thanks for your time

  5. You have definitely provided some great info, tips and advice in this blog. Your trick to find exact match domains faster alone was worth the ride for me :)

I wish you the best of luck with your new authority site and I’ll keep checking here regularly for any updates.

Oh yeah, thanks for being 100% honest throughout this challenge.

  6. Hi Spencer,

A very good ride with you. Great learning. Just a pity that your sharing this experience with us might have caused a negative impact to it. But kudos to for your generous sharing and tips.

Anyway, I would like to thank you on a personal basis as your challenge inspired me to take really massive actions.

In fact, I think the greatest part of your project is the DISCIPLINE to follow through a plan.

  7. Yes, you did inspire me! I add in some criteria on how you choose the keyword and tested on one of my new niche blogs. It appears in second page in just less than 1 week with auto blog content only, no unique content. Thanks for your sharing! I believe sooner your blogs will be indexed again by google soon. Keep it up!

  8. Thanks for great updates and posts. The best thing that i have learns from this blog is how to find domain for niche that i’m looking for. That’s my favourite method in finding domain for niche that i’m using now. Keep up the good info. Thanks.
